Kruger Cowne client, Barbara Orbison, the widow and manager of rock 'n' roll pioneer Roy Orbison, has died today, the 23rd anniversary of her husband's death.

The 60-year-old died from pancreatic cancer at Los Angeles County-USC Medical Centre yesterday surrounded by her sons. She had been in hospital since May.

Since the 1980s, Barbara Orbison devoted her time to managing her husband's estate and keeping his legacy alive.

With her son, Roy Kelton Orbison, she co-produced a four-CD box set of her husband's 107 recordings. "Roy Orbison: The Soul Of Rock and Roll" was released in 2008 and contains all of his hits and 12 previously unreleased tracks.

The package marked the first all-inclusive body of Roy Orbison's work from his earliest recordings to the Travelling Wilburys' debut album, Mystery Girl and his last live performance. Roy Orbison died in 1988 at 52, in the midst of a comeback with The Travelling Wilburys.

In 1998, Barbara Orbison issued "Combo Concert" on her label Orbison Records, a collection of previously unreleased live recordings from Holland and France made in 1965. That same year, Barbara Orbison accepted the Recording Academy's Lifetime Achievement Award on her husband's behalf, which honoured his contribution to the recording industry.

In January 2010, Barbara Orbison accepted a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on her husband's behalf.

Barbara Orbison's Nashville, Tennessee-based music publishing company, Still Working Music was recently awarded BMI's 2010 Song of the Year for Taylor Swift's "You Belong With Me".

She will be buried next to her husband at Westwood Village Memorial Park in Los Angeles. A Celebration of Life is planned in Nashville.

Barbara will be greatly missed by us all.

Cry Havoc - Simon Mann is coming . . . (20/10/2011)

We are really excited to tell you that, following his official pardon and release from Black Beach Prison in Equatorial Guinea, the legendary Captain Simon Mann has now completed his long-awaited book and is exclusively available through Kruger Cowne for public speaking and conference related events.

Simon's leadership, team-building and goal setting experiences as an ex Scots Guard and SAS officer are invaluable to any company trying to survive today. Last, and far from least, his anecdotal after-dinner presentations, reflecting on his capture and five and a half year incarceration in two of the world's most frightening prisons, are absolutely riveting.

The period that Simon spent in prison (both in horrific solitary and general confinement) taught him many things that none of us are (hopefully) likely to have to endure. He was originally sentenced to 34 years and had no idea that he would be pardoned before the end of the term. At one time he thought that he was going to be executed. Only through his solid determination, clear vision, task setting and focus did he remain motivated and alive.

Simon has learnt lessons through business and life that are not only fascinating to listen to but also of solid value. He is a highly accomplished keynote and after dinner speaker and delivers riveting presentations on risk, leadership, teamwork, mental survival, sub-saharan Africa, logistics and strategy.

Simon's autobiography, "CRY HAVOC", will be in the shops shortly and deliverable by Amazon after Monday 24th October. The second part of the serialisation is in the Mail on Sunday Review section this coming Sunday.
