World leading mobile phone designer and entrepreneur

After over sixteen years of design for Nokia and over ten years building and leading Nokia's company wide design group, Frank Nuovo has decided to independently pursue new product and brand development with a sharp focus on design and styling excellence. As of April 3, 2006 Frank stepped aside from his role as Chief of Design for Nokia Corporation. Nuovo will continue to consult for Nokia specifically as Vertu's Principal Designer.  Frank is a talented corporate speaker, keynote speaker and after dinner speaker.

Nuovo left Nokia on a continuing upward trend. During Nuovo's last quarter, Nokia reported a 21% rise in first-quarter net profit due to strong performances at its mobile-phone and multimedia divisions. The world's largest cellphone maker stated sales rose 29% and its market share rose by three percentage points, from a year earlier, to 35%. At that point, the products designed by his team were manufactured at a rate of over four hundred million units per year.  

Reflecting on his career with Nokia, Nuovo said: "Nokia has been a tremendous experience. I have been very fortunate to have participated in the creation of historically significant advances in the merging of technology with human centered design. Working with the fabulous talent of Nokia both in design and all the other disciplines has been a rewarding journey. I very much look forward to amplifying my own creative capacity while focusing closely with the exclusive Vertu team."
