Noreena Hertz is a bestselling author, academic and thinker whose economic predictions over the past 15 years have proven to be visionary. Her work focuses on decision-making, global economic and political trends and Generations X, Y, Z and K. Noreena’s best-selling books, Eyes Wide Open: How to Make Smart Decisions in a Confusing World, IOU: The Debt Threat and The Silent Takeover have been published in more than 20 countries.
The Observer has named her “one of the world’s leading thinkers”. Vogue calls her “one of the world’s most inspiring women” and the Guardian has identified her as “one of the top British Public Intellectuals”.
Hertz is also a sought after broadcaster and commentator and has appeared in flagship television programmes globally including the BBC, CNN and CBS. She has been interviewed on shows including Charlie Rose and Hard Talk, and her work has been the subject of three broadcast documentaries. Her writings have been published on The Financial Times, The Times, The Guardian, Der Spiegel and The Washington Post, among others.
Noreena is an accomplished speaker. She has provided keynote addresses at such forums as TED and DAVOS and has shared conversations with Bill Clinton or James Wolfensohn.
From 2007 to 2008, Noreena was as a member of Citigroup’s Politics and Economics Global Advisory Board. Between 2012 and 2013, Noreena joined the Advisory Group guiding McKinsey’s CEO Dominic Barton’s Inclusive Capitalism Taskforce. Additionally, Noreena is a trustee of the think tank IPPR and advises The UK’s Centre for the Analysis of Social Media. She also sits on various corporate and charitable boards, including the board of the Warner Music Group. In addition, she has joined the Digital Transformation Board of RWE AG, one of Europe’s leading energy companies. She played an influential role in the development of (RED), an innovative commercial model to raise money for people with AIDS in Africa, having inspired Bono (co-founder of the project) with her writings.
