Event Host  Dermot Murnaghan is one of the best known newscasters in Britain.
Having presented BBC Breakfast on BBC1 for 5 years he is now the face of SKY News, presenting on weekdays from 9am - 1pm. He joined the BBC in 2003 after many years with ITN. During that time he fronted all ITV's major bulletins, including News At Ten and also presented Channel Four News. Dermot also presents the ratings success Eggheads, a quiz show for BBC2, which recorded its ninth series in 2008. He has also recently presented a new spin-off show Are you an Egghead? Dermot's incisive interviewing style has been recognised by a number of awards, including the Royal Television Society's Interviewer of The Year Award in 1999 for his interview with Peter Mandelson, which resulted in the latter's resignation from the Cabinet. In addition to his role as a news presenter, Dermot has fronted five series of ITV's The Big Story, co-presented ITV's Sports Awards, Dermot's numerous conference and after dinner appearances have included engagements for The Police Federation,The Army Families Federation, The Home Office and Eurostar. |
