Kruger Cowne are delighted to share that South-Sudanese, former child soldier turned hip-hop artist, actor and peace ambassador, Emmanuel Jal, has some availability in the UK & Europe during Refugee Week – 20th to 26th of June 2016 – for speaking engagements and music performances.
UK Refugee Week is a nationwide programme of arts, cultural and educational events that celebrate the contribution of refugees and encourages a better understanding between communities. In light of this cultural event and of the ongoing debates surrounding the refugee crisis, Emmanuel’s insights have never been more relevant. Drawing on his own struggles, he presents and performs with strong messages of equality, reconciliation and inspiration.
Emmanuel’s reputation as a social change advocate has seen him address the UN, US Congress, and several governments, charities and high-level conferences around the world. in 2008 a documentary on his life, War Child, won 12 prestigious awards worldwide. Emmanuel starred alongside Reese Witherspoon in the The Good Lie (2014), a film concerning the young victims of the Sudanese civil war.
