One Young World 2018 – Highlights

The Hague, Netherlands, was the destination for the 2018 One Young World Summit, which took place between October 17-20th and brought together the brightest young change makers from around the world.
For almost a decade Kruger Cowne has been a proud supporter of One Young World and this year was no exception. We provided some exceptional individuals, in the shape of Fatima Bhutto, Sir Bob Geldof and Terry Crews, for a programme designed to empower the attending delegates to form lasting relationships and develop solutions to overcome some of the world’s most pressing issues.
Sir Bob Geldof addressed delegates at the Opening Ceremony with a very touching tribute to his and OYW’s good friend, Kofi Annan. “Kofi Annan is our future, he is not our past”
Sir Bob Geldof returned on day 2 to deliver a galvanising speech on ‘Leadership In Challenging Times’. The young delegates listening on were visibly hooked by his every rousing word.
Longtime OYW supporter, Fatima Bhutto, launched and chaired a new initiative, the ‘Young Leaders Against Sexual Violence Launch’ panel.
On the final day of the summit, delegates were extended a wonderful speech by Hollywood actor and self-proclaimed ‘accidental activists, Terry Crews.
