Boris Johnson gives Green Light

20th July 2020

It is without doubt that our industry, the meetings, conference, entertainment and music industry, has been one of the worst sectors hit worldwide by the outbreak of the awful COVID-19 virus. But, at last, there is some light at the end of the tunnel.

Addressing the British nation from Downing Street last Friday (17 July), Prime Minister Boris Johnson gave his confirmation that major conferences and exhibitions will be permitted in England from 1 October 2020. Mr Johnson said “From 1  October it is expected that events of all types, such as trade shows, consumer shows, exhibitions and conferences will be allowed at a capacity allowing for compliance with social distancing of 2m, or 1m with mitigation.”

The Government confirmed that smaller events of up to 30 people can already commence as of 1st August.

Whilst the industry has done a fantastic job in adapting to the issues that COVID created by shifting many events to online ones, there is no doubt at all that nothing really beats face to face human interaction and the learning, teamwork and interpersonal collaboration this brings.

At Kruger Cowne we have provided online and other virtual support throughout this dreadful crisis but, are here for you now to start rebuilding the future of actual, physical events.

None of us are certain as to what COVID may bring in the future or what lockdowns it may still cause so we are willing to contract to “COVID cancellations” which, should they arise, would provide quibble free cancelations. But, let’s hope that COVID does not do that and we can look to a brighter and new future working together in this new era of our industry.

Our team remain fully at your disposal to work on any ideas, both now and for the future.
