Dr Etienne Van Der Walt

Etienne van der Walt is an accomplished neurologist and an authority in applied neuroscience (BSc, BMedSc, MMed (Neurology)).

He simplifies the complex by sharing cutting-edge neuroscience insights with organizational leaders for effortless understanding and deep impact. Etienne specifically focuses on how neurobehaviors build true resilience and unlock individual and collective high performance.

His 14-year career as a clinical neurologist, in countries including South Africa, the UK, and the Netherlands, means he has a deep understanding of the anatomy, biology, and physiology of the brain and the human nervous system.

He established Neurozone®, a neuroscience business dedicated to enhancing resilience and high performance by applying brain science, analytics, and systems thinking. At the heart of Neurozone® is a proprietary, quantified, and dynamic set of behaviours that informs leaders about the most current predictors of resilience, and is used for organisational resilience and high performance.

As an avid keynote speaker and masterclass teacher, he engages with senior leaders to optimise human capacity and resilience for this purpose.

Etienne is the founder of AmazingBrainzTM, an organization dedicated to the design of programs for the brain stimulation of young, developing children – especially in disadvantaged communities. In addition to his Medical and Clinical Neurology degrees, he also holds BSc degrees in Chemistry, Mathematical Statistics as well as Integrated Physiology and Virology.

Etienne is a founding member of the McKinsey Global Consortium for Learning for Innovation. He is also an associate of Møller Institute, Cambridge University.
