Hardtalk is a flagship BBC television programme, broadcast four days a week on BBC World News and the BBC News channel, consisting of in-depth half-hour one-on-one interviews.

In this episode, the ex-child soldier turned hip-hop artist and philanthropist, Emmanuel Jal is interviewed by Zeinab Badawi regarding his views on South Sudan; it’s past, present and future. The World’s “Newest Nation” is by no means its safest, in fact South Sudan is still at War with itself and shows no signs of a ceasefire. Emmanuel Jal escaped from the torment of child warfare at a young age in the 1980s and with that has lead a life aimed primarily at raising awareness and funds to help eradicate the notion, not just in South Sudan, but all aroudn the globe.
