Farrah Storr
Farrah Storr is Head of Writer Partnerships at Substack UK. Previously Farrah was the editor-in-chief of Elle UK and Cosmopolitan UK.
Since taking over Cosmopolitan in 2015 she led the magazine through a dramatic new look leading to the magazine becoming the best-selling young women’s title in the UK and increasing circulation by an unprecedented 59%.
Prior to this Farrah launched Women’s Health in the UK, where under her leadership it became the most successful women’s magazine launch of the decade. Farrah has held high profile positions at many of the UK’s and Australia’s glossy women’s magazines including features director at Marie Claire in Sydney and Glamour UK.
Farrah is one of the leading voices for millennial women having overseen the Cosmopolitan brand which reached 10 million women across digital, social and print every month. In 2016 she gave a TEDX London talk on the female leadership in the workplace. In April 2018 she delivered another TEDX talk entitled The Discomfort Zone.
She is a regular talking head on TV, has been a mentor on Britain’s Next Top Model for the last three years and is on the media advisory board for All Bright, the female business network that provided funding for female founders in the UK. Farrah is also a judge for the prestigious George Orwell Foundation’s Orwell Prize for investigative journalism.
In 2018, Farrah was named ‘Editor of the Year’ at the PPA Awards and The Magazine Editor’s Awards. She was also included on The Drums Best 50 Female Speakers in the UK list.
In 2019 Farrah was appointed as editor-in-chief of Elle UK and in 2021 she left the role to become Head of Writer Partnerships at Substack UK.
Farrah was cited as one of the UK’s most influential Asians in the GG2 Power List 2020, as well as one of Walpole Luxury’s 50 most influential people in British luxury. She is also cited as one of the only 36 BAME people on the Guardian’s list of the 1,000 most powerful people in Britain. She is the author of The Discomfort Zone (Piatkus) and a member of the Social Mobility Commission and sits on the board of The National Theatre.
Farrah is internationally recognised as a leading authority on print and digital publishing, fashion, branding, international and current affairs and lifestyle as an author and journalist. She is an excellent moderator, host and presenter and speaks on leadership, motivation, diversity, media, press relations, Asia relations, woman’s rights, health and travel.
