About
Laura Hearn
Laura is a TV News producer for the BBC with over 10 years experience in breaking news and developing stories. With that, Laura knows all too well the pressures of managing a demanding personal life with a busy work schedule.
Laura shares her experience of recovery from anorexia and how she learnt to heal from the inside, after spending 8 months in an inpatient treatment centre in the US. Laura now speaks openly about how she’s learnt to manage her mental health in the workplace, and shares tips for thriving in a fast paced and challenging environment.
She uses her extensive knowledge within broadcasting to remove the stigma of mental illness in the workplace, and to encourage leaders to realise the financial and moral benefits of putting wellbeing at the heart of everything they do. Laura shares why prioritising employee wellbeing is not only right thing to do, but it has a direct impact on our productivity and profitability in companies. She delivers bespoke workshops to companies developing confidence and identity from within.
Laura is also the founder of global platform Jiggsy – inspired by her own recovery from anorexia, Jiggsy uses its unique creative tool; ‘The Jiggsaw,’ to connect people affected by an eating disorder and mental ill health.
