Mack Rutherford
Mack Rutherford is a Belgian-British seventeen year old who made global headlines after successfully flying around the world solo in 2022. Mack’s journey started on March 16th, and he landed back at his starting point in Sofia, Bulgaria, 5 months later.
Mack currently holds the World Records of:
- youngest person to fly solo around the world, as well as,
- youngest person to fly solo around the world in a microlight
Since I was three, all I wanted was to be a pilot. As a child, I flew regularly with my family who are all pilots, and eventually I qualified for my pilot’s license in September 2020, at the age of 15 years and two months. At the time, that made me the youngest licensed pilot in the world. With my flight I want to show that young people can pursue their dreams and achieve amazing things. It might not be easy or smooth sailing, but with grit and perseverance chances of success are on your side.
