Maryam Moshiri is a Chief News Presenter on the BBC’s global news channel BBC World News, broadcasting to over 100 million viewers a week. She presents many of the flagship programmes, including Impact, The Briefing, Global, Newsday and World News Today.
Maryam is both a main news and business news specialist. She worked as a Lead Business Presenter on BBC News for 16 years, presenting all the BBC’s flagship business programmes, including World Business Report, Talking Business and the Business Briefing. Maryam was also the main face of Business on Afternoon Live on the BBC News Channel. She has made documentaries for Radio 4, appeared on the BBC’s Budget programme, presented the 8pm Bulletin on BBC1 and appeared as a business reporter and presenter on BBC One’s Breakfast Programme.
Maryam has presented and reported on some of the biggest business stories of the past two decades. From the economic impact of the 9/11 attacks to the global financial crisis. She has interviewed some of the world’s top economists, investors and CEOs, including Jeff Bezos, Reed Hastings and Willie Walsh. Maryam has also appeared as herself in a Hollywood movie and led a very successful UCL team to the semi-final of Christmas University Challenge.
Maryam is a highly accomplished conference/event host, panel moderator and keynote speaker. Her interests lie in global industry and business, as well as international security and international affairs. She specialises in Business, the Middle East, sustainability, climate change and aviation.
As well as strong business news and current affairs knowledge, Maryam speaks fluent Italian, good Persian and some French.
