The icing on the cake, however, was signing a contract to drive a classic Porsche 911 in 2016, for a return to racing after fully 15 years out of the cockpit. The whole adventure is being documented on a discrete YouTube channel, and blogged exhaustively.
"We invited Steve to address our inter-organisational team at a recent race-themed event because we wanted his insights on team-work from a motor-racing perspective. Steve inspired delegates with his several racing anecdotes and ability to draw parallels relevant to the unique challenges that our team face. He embraced the spirit of our slightly 'out-there' event and went beyond his original brief - doing an excellent job at commentating to bring our team building exercise to life. Steve was a pleasure to work with and attentive to our objectives from the outset. We received numerous positive comments from delegates following our event, including from senior stakeholders."
