19-year-old Zara Rutherford becomes the youngest woman to fly solo around the world
17th January 2022
It has been an incredible start to the New Year here at Kruger Cowne and we have some very exciting, hot off the press news to share with you.
We are delighted to announce that Zara Rutherford, the youngest woman to circumnavigate the globe, has joined our exclusive roster.
Today marks the last leg of Zara’s colossal, World-record-breaking endeavour. She completed her mission and at just 19 years old became the youngest woman in history who has flown solo around the world in a small aircraft. Her journey lasted 4 months and 26 days.
With her flight Zara wants to encourage young women to pursue their dreams and reduce the gender gap in aviation as well as in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM).
Talking about her journey, Zara has said: “Only 5% of commercial pilots and 15% of computer scientists are women. With my flight I want to show young women that they can be bold, ambitious and make their dreams come true”.
This adventure is only the beginning of Zara’s journey towards her ambitious goals and we are extremely proud to represent this unbelievably inspiring individual.
